Moscow - Saba:

The Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday said its forces liberated the town of Lebedivka in the border Kursk province, in addition to liberating the town of Novinkoy in the Sumy province in northern Ukraine.

Sputnik Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "During the offensive operations, units of the Northern Forces Group liberated the village of Lebedivka in Kursk province, and the town of Novinkoy in Sumy province."

The statement added: "Formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of Agronom, Bogdanovka, Goncharovka, Goyevo, Zaulishchenka, Kazachya Lukhniya, Pervy Knyaga, Vtoroy Knyaga, Kositsa, Lukhniya, Malaya Lukhniya, Makhnivka, Rubanshchina, Sudzha, Cherkasy Konobelka, Cherkasy Porechnoye and Yuzhny, where two counterattacks were repelled."

During the day, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 350 servicemen, tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored personnel carriers, 19 armored combat vehicles, 29 vehicles, six field guns, a mortar, an electronic warfare station, an Israeli-made "Rada" radar station, an engineering repair vehicle, as well as 11 drone control centers and an ammunition depot.

Operational-tactical strikes, army aviation and artillery fire, targeted enemy personnel and equipment in the areas of Bondarevka, Pervy Knyazhi, Kubatkin, Korylovka, Lebedevka, Martynovka, Mirny, as well as Basovka, Belovody, Zhuravka, Miropole, Novenko, Obody, Yunakovka, Yablonovka in the Sumy region.

In total, during the fighting on the Kursk direction, Ukrainian troops lost more than 65,930 soldiers, 387 tanks, 300 infantry fighting vehicles, 264 armored personnel carriers, 2,163 armored combat vehicles, 2,370 vehicles, 528 artillery pieces, 52 multiple rocket launchers, including 13 HIMARS, 7 US-made multiple launch rocket launchers, 25 anti-aircraft missile launchers and self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, 10 transport-loading vehicles, 119 electronic warfare stations, 15 anti-battery radars, 9 air defense radars, 53 units of engineering and other equipment, including 21 engineering obstacle-clearing vehicles, a UR-77 mine-sweeping vehicle, 5 bridge ferries, an engineering reconnaissance vehicle, and 14 armored repair vehicles.
