Saudi Arabia has emerged as the largest importer of Egyptian products in 2024, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade data.
According to Youm7, Egypt’s exports to Saudi Arabia reached $3.2 billion, up from $2.7 billion in the previous year, marking an 18% increase with a rise of $490 million.
The UAE ranked second with exports valued at $3.1 billion, compared to $2.2 billion in 2023, reflecting a 44% growth. Turkey followed in third place with $3.1 billion in exports, a 10% increase from $2.8 billion.
Italy came fourth, importing $2.2 billion in Egyptian goods, up from $2.1 billion in the previous year, growing by 6%. The United States ranked fifth, importing $2.2 billion, an increase of 17% from $2.01 billion.
Earlier, Egypt resolved the issue of some of its products being blocked from entering Morocco, which had impacted trade between the two countries. The head of Egypt's Export Council for Packaging and Printing, Nadim Elias, praised efforts by Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan Al-Khateeb, to end the crisis, leading to a positive impact on trade.
Elias also noted that packaging exports to Morocco rose by 9%, totaling $34.6 million in 2024. Furthermore, discussions to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Morocco include increasing trade missions and knowledge exchange.
