Tehran - Saba:
The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish Ambassador to Tehran, Mattias Utterstedt, on Monday to protest against the inappropriate statements made by Swedish officials against Iran.
Tasnim News Agency confirmed that the summons came in response to the interventionist positions of some Swedish officials against the Islamic Republic.
The Swedish ambassador was informed of the official protest by the head of the Third Department for Western European Affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, who criticized the offensive statements made by the Swedish Minister of Education against Iran, considering them a violation of international law and diplomatic norms.
The latest developments in the case of Iranian citizen "Niloufar Zare", who died as a result of an attempted attack in Sweden, were also discussed, and Iran demanded to obtain details of the investigations and judicial measures taken against the perpetrators of the crime. For his part, the Swedish ambassador confirmed that he would convey the Iranian position to his government.
