Seoul - Saba:
The South Korean news agency "Yonhap" reported that North Korea fired several ballistic missiles towards the Yellow Sea today, Monday, coinciding with the start of the annual joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
The agency added that this launch is the first since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump on January 20, and cruise missiles were launched on February 26.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed that the launch was monitored at around 1:50 pm from the "Hwanghae" region.
North Korea announced that the joint maneuvers between Seoul and Washington are a "rehearsal for an aggressive war" that threatens security in the region, and warned of their negative effects on American security.
