Brussels - Saba:
European stocks declined at the start of trading on Wednesday, following significant gains in the previous session.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index opened down 0.3 percent.
The basic resources sector led the sectoral losses, falling 0.7 percent, followed by the European banking sector, which lost 0.5 percent after closing at an all-time high in the previous session.
Germany's blue-chip index also declined 0.5 percent.
