The West Bank has not witnessed forced displacement and the destruction of camps on this scale in decades, Director of Operations for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said late on Sunday, calling on the enemy to put an end to this and expand the scope of the humanitarian response.
Citizens cannot return to their homes because the enemy army is preventing them from reaching the camps and destroying homes and infrastructure, Brice de la Vigne added, according to According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).
De la Vigne noted that the camps have been reduced to "rubble and dust."
In the same context, the report issued by the organization indicated that tens of thousands of displaced people in the northern West Bank lack access to adequate shelter, basic services, and healthcare.
He pointed out that the occupation's aggression on the northern West Bank has led to the forced displacement of thousands of citizens, placing them in an extremely dangerous situation. He called on the occupation authorities to immediately halt the forced displacement.
The report noted that the occupation authorities systematically suppress healthcare workers and patients, that access to healthcare is severely restricted, and that the mental health status of citizens in the West Bank is alarming.
While the report noted that Doctors Without Borders continues to respond to urgent needs, it emphasized that the scale of displacement and the escalating humanitarian crisis, amid an insufficient international response, pose a major challenge to meeting the growing need.
According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation army carried out 1,475 attacks during February, while settlers carried out 230 attacks against citizens in the West Bank.
