President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Tuesday sent a congratulatory cable to the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mohammad Shahabuddin.

In the cable, al-Mashat congratulated Shahabuddin and the Bangladesh people on the occasion of the country's Independence Day celebrations.
