BOGOTA – Saba:
Colombian Camila Osorio (WTA No. 54) secured her third Bogota Open title, defeating Poland's Katarzyna Kawa (WTA No. 223) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, in Sunday evening's final.
Osorio reached the final by defeating Argentina's Julia Riera 6-4, 7-5 in the semi-finals, while Kawa advanced by defeating American Pareja Julieta 7-5, 6-2.
This victory marks Osorio's third Bogota clay-court championship win, adding to her previous titles in 2021 and 2024.
Katarzyna Kawa, despite her loss, had a strong tournament run, winning two qualifying matches and four main draw matches to reach the final.
This was Kawa's second WTA final appearance, following her runner-up finish at the 2019 Jurmala Open against Anastasija Sevastova.
Her performance in Bogota will result in a significant ranking boost, with the 32-year-old Kawa set to climb 67 places to No. 156 in the WTA rankings released on Monday.
