Tehran - Saba:

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced that Iran does not confirm any of the details or issues raised regarding the matters discussed in the Iranian-American negotiations, describing them as mere speculation and media analysis.

During his weekly press conference yesterday, Monday, as reported by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), Baghaei indicated that there have been many developments in the field of diplomacy over the past week.

He explained that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi visited Russia and held a meeting with the Italian Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the indirect Iranian-American talks. He noted that Araqchi will also travel to China tomorrow.

In response to a question from IRNA regarding media speculation regarding the details of the second round of indirect Iran-US negotiations, in which the New York Times claimed that Iran had made proposals to other countries to participate in its nuclear programs, Baghaei said: "We do not confirm any of the details or issues raised regarding the matters discussed in the Iran-US negotiations, describing them as mere speculation and media analysis."

He added that the details of these negotiations should not be discussed in the media, noting that the negotiations are still in their early stages and at the beginning of a long journey, and therefore Iran does not support any of the issues raised.

Regarding the guarantees related to Iran's request to lift the sanctions and prevent their resumption, Baghaei considered the sanctions imposed on Iran to be unjustified, illegal, and unjust, emphasizing that Iran, from this standpoint, does not differentiate between sanctions imposed on it under various pretexts and names.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman explained that Iran's primary demand in any negotiations is to lift this illegal and unjust embargo in a manner that has tangible and effective effects, so that the Islamic Republic of Iran can carry out its economic, commercial, and banking activities normally, and also to ensure that past negative experiences are not repeated.

He said, "The discussion of guarantees relates to this issue, which means that Iran must guarantee that if these talks reach a specific outcome, they will be sustainable, and that the other parties will act seriously in fulfilling their obligations.

In response to a question about whether the other side raised issues other than the nuclear issue and the embargo in the second round of Iran-US talks, Baghaei emphasized that these talks are focused exclusively on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions, noting that this is the framework for the negotiations, and no other issues are addressed outside of it. He said, "As we have stated from the beginning and as we have repeated many times, the lifting of the embargo is a fundamental and essential demand for us."

In this context, Baghaei said "we believe, and it is also a fact, that the unjust sanctions imposed on Iran have no legal basis. They are based on allegations of concern about our peaceful nuclear program, although there is no reason to be concerned."

He indicated that all efforts will be focused on creating the basis for lifting the sanctions as soon as possible, expressing Iran's readiness to build trust, noting that over the past three decades, Iran has consistently addressed any concerns or doubts about the Iranian nuclear program through voluntary and transparent measures.

Baghhaei also explained that the upcoming meeting of experts will remain within the framework of discussing details related to the general structure of the negotiations, and if necessary, more detailed and precise issues of the two parties' positions will be addressed within the frameworks discussed.

Regarding the coincidence of the Saudi Defense Minister's visit to Iran and the second round of Iranian-US talks, Baghaei explained that this visit was planned and scheduled in advance and coincided roughly with the ongoing indirect talks in Rome.

He added that it reflects the importance and effectiveness of the good neighborliness policy that Iran has pursued for several years, and demonstrates Iran's belief in the need for regional countries to leverage their capabilities to enhance stability and maintain regional security in the Persian Gulf and West Asia.

He added that it is only natural for negotiations to be addressed during such visits, and that Iran itself has actively initiated consultations with regional countries in this regard.
