Hodeida - Saba:
Residents of Al-Jah area in Beit Al-Faqih District, Hodeida, are currently implementing a community initiative to plant 5,000 palm seedlings.
During the launch ceremony, attended by the social supervisor of the southern square districts in Hodeida province, Mohammed Al-Mutawakel, agricultural specialist and engineer Hilal Al-Jashari explained that the initiative begins with planting 1,000 palm seedlings and will continue until 5,000 are planted. These seedlings will replace palm trees destroyed during the aggression.
He noted that the initiative will contribute to expanding palm cultivation, boosting local date production, reviving burned lands, and enabling farmers to return to work and productivity.
Al-Jashari praised the engagement of Al-Jah residents in making this community initiative a success. He called on the Initiatives Support Fund and the Loans and Economic Empowerment Unit to contribute by supporting such impactful initiatives and assisting farmers through providing solar energy systems for well water pumping to irrigate the palms. This would ensure the initiative’s success and the establishment of model palm farms, ultimately serving agricultural production and food security programs.
