A founding meeting was held today in the Jabal Habashy District of Taiz Governorate to announce the establishment of the Jabal Habashi Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society.
The meeting was attended by Abdul-Wasie Al-Shamsi, Deputy Governor of Taiz for Development Affairs. The association's administrative body was elected, including Ismail Mohammed as Chairman, Abdul-Rahman Moaz as Secretary-General, and Jalal Abdul-Ghaffar as Executive Director.
Deputy Al-Shamsi emphasized that the establishment of the association represents an important step toward developing the agricultural sector in the district, calling for activation of the role of cooperative societies in implementing development and social projects.
He pointed to the local authority's support for projects implemented by cooperatives to promote development and agriculture and achieve self-sufficiency, emphasizing the need to shift toward local production in light of the difficult circumstances resulting from the US aggression.
For his part, the governorate's agricultural sector official, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi, emphasized that the association will work to attract talent and harness community energies to develop agriculture and solve farmers' problems.
For his part, the director of the district, Mohammed Al-Mansoub, emphasized the importance of the administrative body fulfilling its duties and completing registration procedures to launch the association's activities and achieve its development goals.
