Gaza - Saba
Human Rights Watch called on the international community to pressure Israel to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip, which has caused an unprecedented famine.
Omar Shakir, director of the organization's office in occupied Palestine, emphasized that American complicity during the Biden and Trump administrations encouraged Israel to continue killing civilians, especially children and women.
He pointed out that the starvation policy implemented by Israel in Gaza constitutes a war crime and a violation of international law. He also noted that using children as a tool of pressure is an unprecedented crime.
The organization urged governments and international organizations to take urgent measures to stop the genocide in Gaza, including halting military aid to Israel, reviewing bilateral agreements, and supporting the International Criminal Court.
It is noteworthy that Israel resumed its tight blockade of Gaza on March 18, 2025, after a two-month truce. Since October 2023, it has continued its military operations, which have left more than 168,000 dead and wounded, most of them civilians, in addition to more than 14,000 missing
