A meeting was held on Wednesday in Sana'a, attended by Minister of Information Hashem Sharafuddin and Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shiban, to discuss media and health cooperation amid the escalating U.S. aggression against Yemen.
The meeting addressed coordination measures between the central operations rooms of the Ministries of Information and Health regarding the coverage of U.S. aggression crimes, including the targeting of civilians, residential areas, civilian properties, and service facilities.
During the meeting, Minister Sharafuddin emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination with the Ministry of Health in media coverage of any events related to U.S. aggression crimes, in line with media policies guided by the revolutionary and political leadership.
He stressed the need for national media outlets to fulfill their responsibility in exposing U.S. war crimes in Yemen and presenting them to global public opinion.
Minister Sharafuddin outlined the media’s role in covering the massacres committed by the U.S. enemy and highlighting the suffering of the Yemeni people under blatant aggression.
He explained that the media’s role regarding U.S. aggression crimes is not limited to mere coverage but also includes documentation, showcasing the resilience of the Yemeni people, and exposing the ugly face of the U.S. administration, which orders the bombing of civilians, residential areas, and vital infrastructure.
The Information Minister stressed the importance of coordination with the Health Ministry in announcing casualty statistics from U.S. aggression crimes to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and credibility in reporting figures and data.
He noted that media coverage of U.S. crimes should go beyond routine reporting and standard news formats, emphasizing the need for documentation, prioritization, and highlighting the humanitarian dimensions through in-depth news stories. Each crime, he added, has its own nature, circumstances, location, repercussions, and impacts.
Sharafuddin also underscored the importance of keeping local and international public opinion informed about U.S. crimes, their victims, and consequences through weekly or periodic press conferences. He highlighted the need to educate citizens on how to act during bombings targeting civilians, residential areas, and civilian facilities.
For his part, Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Shiban praised the media’s role in covering all activities related to the Ministry of Health and its sectors, as well as conveying the humanitarian tragedy resulting from U.S. aggression , its targeting of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure.
He stressed the necessity for media accuracy when covering U.S. aggression crimes, whether while reporting from crime scenes or hospitals and medical facilities where the wounded are treated.
Dr. Shiban emphasized the importance of strengthening media and health cooperation amid the escalation of U.S. airstrikes on populated areas, which helps counter enemy propaganda, hired mouthpieces, and agents, while refuting rumors and misleading news. He affirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to providing the media with accurate statistics on emergency incidents, particularly those related to U.S. aggression crimes in Yemen.
The Health Minister expressed the ministry’s readiness to hold press conferences and media briefings to inform local and international public opinion about the full details of U.S. crimes in Yemen, which target civilians, residential areas, and civilian properties.
