Sana’a - Saba:
The free medical camp for tuberculosis (TB) and chest diseases concluded on Wednesday at the Tuberculosis Hospital in Sana’a.
The camp was organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, represented by the National Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Control Program, under the title "Yes, We Can Eliminate Tuberculosis."
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Ihab Al-Saqqaf, Director General of the National Tuberculosis Control Program, stated that the camp received over 1,500 cases of various chest diseases, reflecting the significant public turnout for examinations and treatments.
He noted that cases of pulmonary TB and drug-resistant TB were detected, underscoring the need to expand such camps across other provinces. Dr. Al-Saqqaf confirmed that all diagnosed cases received treatment, including free medications.
The three-day camp aimed to facilitate early detection of TB and chest diseases to ensure effective treatment, as well as to raise community awareness about the risks, transmission, and prevention of the disease.
The camp targeted cases of respiratory infections, contacts of TB patients, people with a cough lasting for more than two weeks, high fever, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, chest pain or difficulty breathing, and medicines for diabetics.
