Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting in Sana'a province, chaired by Sana'a first undersecretary Hamid Asim on Saturday discussed activating the role of local councils in northern sector districts to preserve endowment lands and properties.
Attendees, including other deputy governors and directors of endowments and security in various districts, reviewed challenges hindering endowment work, such as incomplete land inventories and lack of employee cooperation.
Discussions emphasized the shared responsibility in preserving endowments, protecting them from encroachment, arresting violators, and referring them to judicial authorities.
The importance of registering and documenting endowment lands at the district level, identifying disposed properties, tracking tenants, and promptly collecting dues was also highlighted.
Coordination between district directors and security and judicial authorities was deemed crucial for inventorying funds and tracking financial obligations.
The meeting commended efforts to overcome challenges and emphasized the need to establish a mechanism to protect all endowments, recover seized funds, and create a comprehensive inventory and collection process through coordination between the Governorate's Awqaf Office, the directorates, and security agencies.
