Occupied Quds - SABA:
The number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation jails has reached 10800 as of early July according to a joint statement Tuesday from the Prisoners Affairs Commission Palestinian Prisoners Society and Addameer human rights organization.
This figure marks the highest since the 2000 AlAqsa Intifada and excludes detainees held in Israeli military camps from Gaza.
The statement detailed the prisoners include
- 50 female prisoners including 2 from Gaza
- 450 children
- 3629 administrative detainees held without charge
Since Israel's ground offensive on Gaza began October 27 2023 occupation forces have arrested thousands including women children and medical personnel with few released showing signs of torture and starvation.
Israeli rights groups have documented systematic torture starvation and medical neglect of Palestinian prisoners contrasting with Hamasreleased Israeli captives who appeared in good health.
