Gaza - Saba:
The spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Khalil Al-Daqran, stated that more than 600,000 children in Gaza are at risk due to malnutrition.
In a statement to Al Jazeera on Friday, Al-Daqran called for international intervention to supply Gaza’s hospitals with blood units to save the lives of the wounded.
Hospitals across the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe shortage of blood units and their components for treating the injured and the sick.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the available blood supply falls far short of the monthly consumption rate, urging the need to strengthen blood bank reserves to meet emergency and life-saving needs.
The Government Media Office in Gaza had earlier announced the deaths of 66 children due to acute malnutrition, as the Israeli occupation continues to close border crossings and prevent the entry of infant formula and nutritional supplements designated for vulnerable groups, especially infants and the ill.
