Gaza – Saba:
The Ministry of Health in Gaza issued an urgent appeal on Friday for the immediate entry of fuel needed to operate hospital generators and ambulances, enabling them to carry out their life-saving duties for Palestinians in the Strip.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the ministry warned, "Patients in Gaza’s hospitals remain on the brink of death every day due to the continued policy of restricting and drip-feeding the fuel supplies required to run hospital generators and ambulances."
The ministry clarified that the amount of fuel being allowed in falls far short of what medical facilities need, forcing them to implement austerity measures. These include cutting power to certain departments and delaying or suspending critical services, such as dialysis.
It further noted that the fuel shortage has severely reduced the operational capacity of ambulances, leaving civilians no choice but to transport the injured and sick using animal-drawn carts.
The ministry emphasized that this situation places patients—particularly those in intensive care and others dependent on life-support equipment—in constant peril, as the limited fuel supply is delivered sporadically, day by day, keeping medical staff under relentless pressure and danger.
The Gaza Health Ministry called on all relevant institutions to end this ongoing crisis and ensure sufficient fuel supplies to keep hospitals and ambulances running, stressing the urgent need to save lives.
