Moscow - Saba:
Head of the Russian delegation for negotiations with Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky, confirmed on Thursday that Russia handed over more than 1,000 additional bodies of Ukrainian soldiers to Ukraine, as part of the continued implementation of the Istanbul agreements.
Medinsky wrote on his Telegram channel, as reported by the Russia Today website: "Russia received 19 bodies of fallen Russian soldiers from the Ukrainian side, in accordance with the agreements reached in Istanbul, Turkey."
It is worth noting that the second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine was held on June 2 in Turkey, during which both sides exchanged memorandums on conflict resolution.
The head of the Russian delegation announced that both parties agreed on a large-scale prisoner exchange, as well as discussions on a ceasefire in specific areas to collect the bodies of the dead. However, Vladimir Zelensky withdrew from the alleged agreement just two hours after it was announced, while Medinsky affirmed that Russia had fulfilled the promises it made in Istanbul.
