Sana’a – SABA:
Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, inspected the progress of entrance exams today for applicants to the Yemeni-Chinese Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology in the capital, Sana’a.
Accompanied by Deputy Minister for Secondary Education, Dr. Zaid Al-Haddour, the minister was briefed by the institute’s dean, Abdulrabah Al-Talou’, his deputies, and teaching staff. A total of 530 candidates are competing for 80 seats across two programs: Automotive Electricity and General Electricity.
The delegation also reviewed practical training sessions for students enrolled in the vocational secondary education program in Computer Science and Mechanics at Kuwait Secondary School.
Al-Saadi and Al-Haddour also visited Omar Bin Abdulaziz Secondary School in the capital to observe vocational training in the newly introduced programs, which include Vehicle Mechanics, General Computing, and General Electrical Installations.
The minister praised the initiative, which reflects a partnership between three model schools and three vocational and technical institutes in Sana’a, aimed at launching specialized vocational secondary programs that meet modern demands and expectations for skilled graduates.
He emphasized that such programs will help absorb more basic education graduates—especially those who have dropped out—by providing them with practical vocational qualifications that serve the community and reduce unemployment.
