Occupied Quds - Saba:
Israeli occupation authorities delivered a final demolition order on Wednesday for a residential building housing 17 Palestinian families in the Al-Sawana neighborhood of occupied Quds, giving the families only three days to evacuate.
According to the Palestinian news agency "Safa," the Quds Governorate reported that Israeli forces raided the area surrounding the building and handed its residents the final demolition notice, setting a deadline until Saturday, July 26, to vacate. This will lead to the forced displacement of 17 families, comprising around 100 Jerusalemites.
The Governorate stated that the building has stood since 1998, with Israeli authorities first issuing a demolition order in 2003 under the pretext of lacking a construction permit. Over the years, the residents have paid exorbitant fines to the Israeli municipality.
Among the families residing in the building is that of Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque and head of the Supreme Islamic Council.
