Sana’a - Saba:
A first aid training course for employees of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities concluded on Monday in Sana’a.

The course was organized by the Authority in coordination with the Yemen Red Crescent Society and supported by the Norwegian Red Cross.

The three-day course aimed to equip 25 male and female employees with essential skills related to the principles and objectives of first aid, general examination procedures, CPR, bleeding management, and providing emergency care to the injured. The training also included handling trauma cases, poisoning, burns, fractures, splinting, transport techniques, and bandaging.

At the closing ceremony, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai emphasized the importance of training Water Resources Authority employees in first aid practices, particularly during accidents, disasters, and emergencies resulting from the ongoing aggression.

He pointed out that employees working in water wells, dams, and water infrastructure must be familiar with first aid, especially since such facilities often witness incidents involving field personnel.

The Minister considered the course an important step toward promoting health awareness among staff. He stressed the need to intensify training programs for Authority employees, both in general knowledge and specialized technical fields, particularly for engineers.

Dr. Al-Rubai underlined the necessity of enrolling committed and efficient field staff in training and capacity-building programs. He said this contributes to developing a future system for operations and maintenance management, technical quality control, and an integrated supervision and monitoring framework.

He also encouraged leveraging automation and other training programs to improve performance and enhance responsibility in preserving the country's water security.

For his part, Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Sufyani, Deputy Director of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority, stated that the three-day course aimed to build the first aid capacity of Authority staff.

He praised the Ministry of Agriculture’s leadership for supporting training programs for the Authority’s personnel and acknowledged the Yemen Red Crescent Society for backing the first aid and early rescue training course.

Al-Sufyani affirmed the Authority’s commitment to training its employees in first aid, especially amid the continued American and Zionist aggression and the essential fieldwork carried out by the Authority and its staff.
