Doha – Saba:
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Friday condemned the brutal torture methods inflicted on Palestinian prisoners in Zionist occupation prisons.
Hamas official Abdulrahman Shadeed said in a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that the forms of brutal torture against Palestinian prisoners—particularly recent reports from Gilboa Prison confirming the use of electric shocks as a tool of revenge and humiliation—constitute a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws , norms, and underscore the extent of the enemy’s brutality and fascism.
He warned of the grave dangers facing Palestinian prisoners and the escalating repression against them, marked by the harshest forms of physical and psychological abuse and deprivation. Shadeed described these practices as war crimes that require prosecution before international courts.
He called on all human rights organizations and international bodies—especially those concerned with prisoners of the Zionist enemy—to act justly and intervene immediately to halt these violations, ensure the protection of Palestinian detainees, and guarantee their human rights.
The Hamas leader also urged the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nations to intensify public and media activities in support of the prisoners, expose the Zionist enemy’s practices before global public opinion, and keep their cause at the forefront of priorities until they are freed from the enemy’s grasp.
