HAJJAH August 22. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch and International Cooperation in Hajjah Governorate and the Red Crescent Society in the governorate distributed on Thursday shelter and food aid to families affected by the floods in the camps for displaced people in Abs district.
Funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Norwegian Red Cross, the aid targeted 178 families in Bani Arjan, Doueira, Madaia and Southern Maqa'sha camps.
The director of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch in Hajjah, Allan Fadael, stressed the keenness of the leadership of the province and the Council to provide relief to families affected by the torrential rains and alleviate their suffering.
He valued the Red Crescent Society in the governorate directly responding to the humanitarian appeal and providing aid to the affected families. He called on humanitarian partners to play their role in assisting those affected by the floods.
In turn, the director of the directorate, Ali Sawan, praised the efforts of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs and the Red Crescent Society, which contribute to alleviating the suffering of the displaced and those affected by the floods in the district.
Meanwhile, the head of the Yemen Red Crescent Society in the governorate, Dr. Ahmed Nassar, stressed keenness to assist the displaced affected by the floods and alleviate their suffering.
