MOSCOW - Saba: The West should be prevented from potential misuse of the veto at the UN Security Council, the Russian permanent representative to the UN said on Wednesday.
The U.S. used veto five times with regard to the Israeli war on Gaza and prevented condemnation of violence, 'RT' website quoted Dmitry Polyanskiy as commenting on remarks by the U.S. representative, who said her country uses the veto to activate its interests and is unwilling to justify that.
The veto is not a privilege, but rather a tool to prevent one-sided decisions, the Russian diplomat added, "but the U.S. in particular always misuses veto, as the case in Gaza Strip."
