Al-Bayda - SABA:

A meeting held today in Al-Bayda Governorate, chaired by Governor Abdullah Idris, discussed UNICEF’s interventions in supporting health sector projects.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Governor Saleh Al-Mansouri, key executive leaders, and UNICEF representatives, focused on mechanisms to strengthen partnerships aimed at improving the quality and level of humanitarian services to meet the health sector needs of the governorate, especially given the current challenges facing the country.

During the meeting, Governor Idris praised UNICEF’s efforts in implementing healthcare and primary healthcare projects, acknowledging the ongoing need for development initiatives across various sectors. He emphasized the importance of expanding UNICEF’s interventions in the governorate’s districts, particularly in light of the circumstances caused by conflict and blockade. He also assured that all necessary facilitation would be provided for projects implemented by humanitarian and service organizations.

The meeting reviewed a report presented by emergency response officials from UNICEF, Dr. Abdulqadir Manaa, and health education and media specialist Dr. Abdulkhaleq Zeinah. The report highlighted the ongoing health sector projects and outlined priority needs to be addressed in the next phase.

Additionally, the meeting assessed completed projects in the healthcare field and identified key priority projects required to address the governorate’s pressing needs.

Dr. Mujahid Al-Khatari, Director of the Public Health and Population Office, and Abduljabbar Al-Amadi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs, discussed the challenges and needs impacting the implementation of projects and the provision of services to citizens. They stressed the necessity of expanding UNICEF’s activities and programs to further improve health services and alleviate the suffering of the local population.
