Baghdad - Saba:
Member of the Iraqi al-Fatah Alliance Salam Hussein confirmed Thursday that the US withdrawal from Iraq after the recent events in the region and Trump's victory has become difficult.
Hussein said in a statement to the Iraqi "al-Maalouma" Agency: "The United States of America has not wanted any real military withdrawal from Iraq since the beginning. It only wants to change the address of its presence, but after the recent events in the region and after Trump's victory, this matter has become difficult. The latter will work to stay longer so that he is able to protect the Zionist entity through this presence."
He explained that "Trump realized well after the Lebanon and Gaza war that the Iraqi resistance poses a real threat to the Zionist entity after it was able to strike targets deep inside the Zionist entity." He added, "That is why he wants to stay in Iraq to remain in control of its airspace and to remain fully monitoring the movements of the resistance."
Observers believe that the equation of the American presence in Iraq and the issue of withdrawal from Iraqi territory may change with Trump's arrival to power, while they expected the continuation of the American presence inside Iraq despite the existence of an agreement between Baghdad and Washington on this issue.
