Hajjah - Saba:
The Martyr's Football Championship officially began on Saturday at the center of Hajjah province, marking the annual commemoration of the martyr for the year 1446 AH.
The tournament, organized by the Football Association branch under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office in Hajjah, features 10 teams divided into two groups.
In the opening match, the Challenge team triumphed over the Martyr Yasser al-Matari team with a 3-1 victory.
The Challenge team's goals were scored by Tawfiq Jilan (two goals) and Zakaria Matar (one goal), while the Martyr Al-Matari team’s sole goal came from Khattab Qatif.
Murad Shali, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Hajjah, highlighted the significance of organizing such sports events to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs.
He emphasized that the championship serves as a reminder of the heroic deeds written by the martyrs in defense of Yemen's sovereignty, dignity, and honor.
Shali described the annual martyrdom anniversary as a moment to reaffirm loyalty to those who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom and to inspire the youth to continue the struggle against tyranny and aggression.
