Sana'a - Saba:
The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums has condemned the deliberate neglect of Yemen's ancient heritage in areas occupied by mercenaries, particularly in Marib province.
The Authority issued a statement expressing concern over the lack of care and protection for significant archaeological sites in these regions.
According to the statement, the Authority has received numerous reports about the deteriorating condition of various cultural sites, which are being left to decay without regard for their importance to Yemen's national identity and historical legacy.
The neglect, the Authority warned, amounts to a disregard for Yemen’s rich civilization, some of which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums called on the citizens of these occupied areas to take action and prevent further damage to the nation's heritage, urging them to help stop what it described as a "crime" against Yemen’s cultural heritage and its future generations.
