The Malaria Control and Roll Back Malaria Program in Sana'a province ended on Tuesday a training program for teams tasked with distributing impregnated mosquito nets in a number of districts in the province.
The two-day program aimed to train 191 staff members in 37 teams on how to deal with the targeted people, introduce them to the routes, targeted villages and distribution mechanism, as well as introduce them to the campaign strategy, how to record data in the daily record, manually and electronically, and send it to the operations room of the province's health office.
The director of the malaria program in the province, Dr. Jamal Ghorab, told the Yemeni News Agency (SPA) that the mosquito net distribution campaign, which will start tomorrow, Wednesday, will target 120,000 citizens in 1,396 shops and villages, in the districts of Manakhah, Al-Haymateen, Al-Haymateen Inner and Outer, Saafan, Bani Matar, in addition to Dharan Anas district, which is located within the epidemiological map of malaria in Dhamar province.
He pointed out that 66,500 impregnated mosquito nets will be distributed according to a house-to-house distribution mechanism for each family, calling on citizens to cooperate with the distribution teams and follow the proper guidelines in dealing with mosquito nets.
