New Delhi - Saba:
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced today, Wednesday, that it plans to launch the (Proba-3) mission of the European Space Agency on December 4th, using an Indian-made PSLV rocket.
The organization said on the (X) social network: "The mission is dedicated to observing the sun."
It pointed out that the (Proba-3) mission will launch two satellites, weighing 550 kg each, into a high elliptical orbit, demonstrating the ability of Indian-made PSLV rockets to conduct such complex orbital operations.
The European solar mission will launch from the "Sriharikota" spaceport in India at 16:08 local time today (13:38 Moscow time).
The (Proba-3) mission includes two spacecraft designed to study the solar corona, which will have to perform precise maneuvers in Earth's orbit so that one creates an "artificial solar eclipse" for the other, allowing only the solar corona to be studied.
