Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq's firm position in favor of Syria's unity and stability and the need to respect its territorial sovereignty, noting that his country is continuing diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis in Syria.
The Iraqi Prime Minister's Media Office said: During his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Friday, Al-Sudani discussed developments in the region, especially what is happening in the Syrian arena and bilateral relations between the two countries
Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq's official and firm position is in favor of Syria's unity, security and stability, and stressed that his country will continue to exert vigorous diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis in Syria because of its clear impact on Iraqi security.
He pointed out that what is happening in Syria is inseparable from the events in Gaza and Lebanon, which have threatened the security and destabilization of the region.
