The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies in France announced that consumer prices rose 1.7% in November on an annual basis, in line with a preliminary reading published late last month.
Media reports indicated that the annual inflation rate in the European Union's second-largest economy, which is harmonized for comparison with other countries in the bloc, accelerated slightly compared to 1.6% in October.
