Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Trauma Life Support (TLS) courses to train health workers in health facilities began in Sana'a, organized on Saturday by the Health Office in the Capital Secretariat.
The six-day course aims to provide 50 trainees from health facilities in the Capital Secretariat with skills on CPR and how to spread awareness of the importance of resuscitation to increase the number of trainers among the community and enhance confidence in providing first aid.
At the opening, Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Abdulkarim Sheiban stressed the importance of preparing trainers in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and critical care treatment to train individuals in hospitals, health centers and others.
Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni, Director of the Health Office in the Secretariat, pointed out the importance of the course to enhance the participants' skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
He said the course focuses on developing the practical and technical skills needed to perform CPR correctly, which enhances the trainers' ability to teach others.
Dr. Al-Marouni pointed out the importance of the courses to raise and enhance the level, capabilities , skills of health personnel to face disasters and emergencies. He expressed hope that the trainees will benefit from the contents of the course because of its importance in saving people's lives.
