The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Thursday the recent Zionist aggression targeting civilian objects in Yemen, including Sana'a International Airport, Hezyaz Power Station, Hodeida Port, Ras Kathib Power Station, and Ras Issa Oil Port.
In a statement, the Ministry expressed deep concern over the attack, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several civilians, along with significant material damage. The Ministry called the aggression a clear violation of Yemen's sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as a breach of the United Nations Charter and international law.
The statement emphasized that by targeting civilian infrastructure such as airports, ports, and power stations, the Zionist entity blatantly disregarded international norms, charters, and laws.
The Ministry also highlighted the timing of the attack on Sana'a Airport, which occurred while UN Secretary-General's envoy and Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and UN Resident Coordinator Julien Harneis were preparing to leave the airport after an official visit. The strike led to the injury of a crew member of the UN plane.
The Ministry stressed that targeting civilian airports, such as Sana'a Airport, which serves as a key route for humanitarian and civilian flights, is a clear violation of international agreements, particularly the Chicago Convention of 1944, which prohibits such attacks.
The Ministry reaffirmed that the Zionist aggression will not deter the Yemeni leadership and people from their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. It stated that the siege and targeting of Gaza will only end when the aggression ceases and the blockade on Gaza is lifted.
The Ministry called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to condemn the Zionist attacks on Yemen and to take urgent measures to hold the aggressors accountable for their actions.
