Bani Qais Agricultural Association in Hajjah province is set to inaugurate the first-ever seasonal honey market tomorrow.
Organized in collaboration with the province's agricultural sector and the Cooperative Union, and funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund, the three-day market aims to promote the renowned honey from Bani Qais and neighboring regions in Mahweet and Hodeida.
Officials including Hassan Hazazi, the agricultural sector representative in Hajjah, Mohammed al-Shahari, the director of the district, and Ahmed al-Shammari, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, emphasized the importance of such markets. They noted the vital role they play in supporting beekeepers, developing the honey sector, and addressing challenges posed by the ongoing aggression and siege.
The officials encouraged beekeepers to join the Agricultural Association to expand its activities and urged businessmen and relevant companies to support initiatives that bolster local honey production.
Hamid Jarad, Executive Director of Bani Qais Association, highlighted that the market would feature participation from hundreds of beekeepers, offering approximately ten tons of high-quality honey.
He added that this initiative is part of the association's broader efforts to develop the honey industry in Bani Qais and neighboring areas.
