Sana’a - Saba:

Dr. Hammoud Ubad, Secretary-General of the Capital Sana’a, visited on Sunday Bunyan Development Foundation to review its Creativity and Innovation Support Program.

During the visit, Dr. Ubad explored innovative models of agricultural equipment developed by program participants, known as the "Knights of Creativity and Innovation." These inventions include a corn thresher, manual seeders, fodder choppers, vegetable and fruit pulp extractors, grain threshers, seed sieves, and rice peelers.

Accompanied by Fuad al-Herdi, Presidential Office Representative; Engineer Abdulmalik Al-Ansi, Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the Capital Sana'a; Nasser al-Kuhali, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office; and Sami Hamid, Director of al-Wahda District, Dr. Ubad was briefed by Engineer Wael Mahdi, Director of the Sana’a Zone at the Bunyan Foundation. Mahdi outlined the objectives and outcomes of the program, highlighting its focus on supporting innovative agricultural solutions.

Dr. Ubad praised the partnership between the Capital Sana'a and Bunyan Foundation, emphasizing the program’s role in fostering innovation in the manufacture of agricultural machinery. He underscored the importance of supporting these inventors, whose efforts contribute to reducing reliance on imports and advancing agricultural development.

“These creative models, produced in simple workshops through sheer determination, represent a significant step toward agricultural self-sufficiency and innovation,” said Dr. Ubad.

He announced plans to expand the program into a nationwide initiative, including the allocation of dedicated spaces and workshops for manufacturing agricultural equipment. This initiative aims to strengthen the resolve of innovators and enhance their contributions to the agricultural sector.

Dr. Ubad also highlighted the program’s potential to alleviate challenges faced by farmers, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance the quality of produce through locally developed tools and machinery.
