Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 56 Ukrainian drones last night, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.
"Last night, air defense systems destroyed 56 Ukrainian drones," Sputnik Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
"11 drones were shot down over the territory of the Belgorod region, 28 over the territory of the Voronezh region, and 17 over the territory of the Rostov region," the ministry added.
"Last night, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 17 drones over the Rostov region in the Kamensk, Novoshakhtinsk, Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky, Ust-Donetsk and Krasnosolensky districts," Acting Governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, said in a statement on Telegram.
He added that there were no casualties or damage on the ground as a result of the attack.
According to Voronezh region Governor Alexander Gusev, Russian air defense forces and electronic warfare systems detected and destroyed over 10 drones in the suburbs of Voronezh and several other regions.
Gusev said in a statement on his Telegram channel: "More than ten drones were detected and destroyed by air defense forces and electronic warfare systems in the suburbs of Voronezh and several other parts of the region."
Two people were injured in an attack by Ukrainian drones in the Russian Belgorod region, he added.
Ukrainian forces target, almost daily, Russian border areas in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov regions, and the Crimean peninsula, with drones and missiles.
