Sana'a - Saba:
The year 2024 AD ends its last days, the most severe and bloody for the Palestinian people ever, as the Gaza Strip witnessed an unprecedented Zionist-American war of extermination that destroyed all the elements of life, while the pace of settlement in the occupied West Bank increased.
The Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip enters a new year in confronting the Zionist enemy forces and confronting their continuous aggression on neighborhoods, camps and cities for more than 14 consecutive months.
Despite the serious challenges and obstacles it faced due to the intensification of the brutal Zionist-American aggression, the continuation of the siege, and the interruption of internal and external supply lines, the resistance in the Gaza Strip does not show any kind of retreat, defeat or weakness.
The current year, which is about to end, has witnessed almost daily operations against the positions of the Zionist enemy forces, especially in the areas of penetration in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, some of which represented milestones in the resistance's efforts to confront the occupation and confront its ongoing incursions and invasions, and some analysts even considered it a legendary steadfastness unparalleled in modern history.
During its ongoing battle for more than a year, the Palestinian resistance has used many tactics in confronting the Zionist enemy army to approach the incomparable equation of forces between the two parties, and perhaps this reveals a major reason for the enemy's failure to achieve its goals in Gaza for more than 14 months.
At the same time, the occupied West Bank witnessed exceptional attacks that included excessive use of brutal force, developments and shocking surprises, while acknowledging that the extent of the Zionist crimes in Gaza has moved the world and returned the Palestinian cause to the circle of international attention.
The anti-settlement organization "Peace Now" considered that the year 2024 was the "peak" in the confiscation of Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank, making it clear that the current Zionist government, which was described as the "most extremist" in the history of the entity, is working to implement its ideas that oppose the idea of the existence of a Palestinian state.. stressing that the year 2024 is the "peak year for the confiscation of lands in the West Bank".
While the world welcomes the new year 2025, the year 2024 folds its last days, and there is no change in the Palestinian situation, which was summed up by the open tragedy in Gaza and the harsh humanitarian conditions that afflicted it.
It seems that what happened in Gaza throughout 2024 and three months before that in the year that preceded it 2023, no statistics or words can fully convey it.. as reports indicate that Gaza lost about ten percent of its population between martyrs, wounded and missing.
The numbers and statistics on the results of the Zionist-American aggression on Gaza are terrifying. Until this month, the aggression has left more than 55,000 Palestinians dead and missing since October 7, 2023. The enemy has committed about ten thousand massacres, including 7,168 against Palestinian families.
Until mid-December, according to statistics from the government office in Gaza, the Zionist war of extermination has erased more than 1,140 Palestinian families from the civil registry, after killing the father, mother and all family members. There are 3,563 Palestinian families that the Zionist army has exterminated, leaving only one person.
The chapters of the tragedy continue with the martyrdom of about 18,000 children among the total victims, at a rate of one child martyr every hour, according to the UNRWA agency. Children have also been deprived of a full school year, and schools that house displaced families have been repeatedly bombed.
Health care workers and hospitals have been repeatedly attacked, while 12,136 women have been killed, with around 70 percent of the victims being women and children, in addition to thousands of doctors, nurses, relief workers, paramedics, journalists, photographers and humanitarian workers. These statistics change every day and sometimes every hour.
The war has displaced most of the Strip’s 2.3 million residents, causing a severe humanitarian crisis. According to the United Nations, almost the entire population of Gaza has been displaced, with many of them displaced several times and finding no safe place to go.
As for the humanitarian situation, it has reached a critical level and reached the level of genocide, with the severe deterioration of food security, which about half the population suffers from, amid expectations that more than 50,000 children will need treatment for severe malnutrition, while 160,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women need nutrition and micronutrient supplements.
On the health side, about one million people face health threats due to the spread of rodents, pests, solid and human waste, and sewage, and about 1.4 million people receive less than the recommended amount of water, which is estimated at six liters per person per day for drinking and cooking.
For more than 14 months, the Zionist enemy dropped 87 thousand tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip, equivalent to more than three atomic bombs compared to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs.
According to the government media office, the Zionist-American aggression destroyed 160 thousand and 500 housing units completely, 83 thousand housing units became uninhabitable, and 193 thousand housing units were partially destroyed.
The Zionist enemy army also completely destroyed 819 mosques, 153 mosques badly need to be restored, three churches were destroyed, and 19 cemeteries were completely or partially destroyed by the army out of 60 cemeteries, while the Zionist army confiscated about 2,300 bodies from many cemeteries in the Gaza Strip, while 34 hospitals, 80 health centers, 162 health institutions and 135 ambulances were taken out of service.
Over the course of this year, indirect talks between the occupying entity and the Hamas movement did not move a finger, and mutual accusations remained the master of the situation, amid continuous efforts by mediators, but without any significant breakthrough due to Zionist intransigence and the absence of deterrence with the weakness of international law.
Some forecasts indicate that the Gaza Strip may witness a temporary truce in 2025 that may lead to a ceasefire for a limited period, but the Zionist enemy does not seek to achieve a permanent ceasefire, but rather works to achieve strategic goals represented in destroying the Palestinian factions and displacing the largest possible number of residents of the Strip, whether through forced displacement or by opening the crossings to make way for voluntary displacement.
As the year 2025 approaches, and in conjunction with the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip and the continuation of settlement ambitions in the West Bank, fears are rising of the continued absence of a political horizon to resolve the Palestinian issue in light of local, regional and international complications.
