The Russian presidency, the Kremlin, emphasised on Friday that BRICS group is not discussing the issue of creating a common currency, in response to US President Donald Trump's threats to impose tariffs on BRICS countries if they abandon the US dollar in trade transactions.
"The BRICS group, of which Russia is a member, is not talking about creating its own currency, but only about creating joint investment platforms," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a press conference.
US President Donald Trump has threatened BRICS countries against trying to replace the dollar with 100 per cent tariffs.
