Gaza - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) on Friday warned of the catastrophic consequences for Palestinian refugees if the Zionist enemy stops its work in the occupied territories.
The Agency's Director of Communications
"UNRWA is committed to continue providing essential and life-saving services throughout the occupied Palestinian territory including Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied East Al-Quds," Juliette Touma said in statements, stressing that the full implementation of the two Zionist Knesset laws that seek to prevent the UN agency from providing its services "will have catastrophic consequences on the lives and future of Palestine refugees."
She noted that the Agency has not yet received any official communication from the Zionist entity on how the two laws will be implemented throughout the occupied territories, noting that the visas of international staff expired two days ago, forcing them to leave the Palestinian territories.
Touma also noted that UNRWA lost more than 270 of its staff in Gaza Strip, and at least two-thirds of its facilities were bombed during the war, while about 20 staff members are still in Zionist detention centres.
The Knesset had recently adopted two laws that would stop UNRWA's work in the occupied Palestinian territories and prohibit the Zionist entity from communicating with the agency.
