Kuala Lumpur - Saba:
The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday that a conference will be held to support reconstruction efforts in Palestine.
The ministry said in a statement: It is coordinating with Japan to hold the fourth ministerial meeting of the Conference on Regional Cooperation on Asia and Africa (CEAPAD IV) in Malaysia this year. This initiative reflects Malaysia's proactive role in securing international support and enhancing cooperation to ensure the sustainability and impact of reconstruction efforts in Palestine.
As part of these efforts, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry aims to contribute to the rebuilding of basic infrastructure, including a school, hospital and mosque, as a sign of the collective commitment of the government, the private sector and the people of Malaysia.
It continued: "Together with Japan, it will seek to engage participants in the Conference on Regional Cooperation for Development in the Middle East and North Africa (CEAPAD) in securing the necessary commitments for the success of the group's efforts to redevelop Gaza. This includes a series of coordination meetings ahead of the conference to ensure that aid and contributions to Palestine are delivered in a more efficient, organized and sustainable manner for long-term development.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry emphasized Malaysia's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, and continues to work closely with its regional and international partners to ensure that SIPAD IV is translated into concrete actions that support Palestine's long-term reconstruction and stability.
