Sana'a – Saba:

A field visit to al-Razi University was conducted Saturday by the Supreme Supervisory Committee for Evaluation to assess the graduate studies programs.

The committee, led by Dr. Hatem al-Duais, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Chairman of the Supreme Supervisory Committee, reviewed the progress of 14 master’s programs across various fields.

The 14 academic programs evaluated included Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Law, among others.

The committee reviewed reports and documents related to the university's licensing processes, ensuring that the graduate programs met established evaluation standards, including the programs’ missions, objectives, structure, facilities, and financial management.

Dr. al-Duais emphasized the importance of the evaluation in determining the quality of graduate programs at private universities and ensuring they align with societal and development needs. He also highlighted the university’s responsibility to improve higher education standards.

Dr. al-Bukhaiti pointed out that over 14 committees consisting of 50-60 evaluators conducted the assessments using clear, approved standards. The evaluation is a crucial step for assessing private universities, with plans for similar reviews at public institutions.

Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector, underscored the role of private education in Yemen’s educational landscape and the importance of evaluating programs to foster scientific research and development.

Dr. Khalil al-Wajeeh, Rector of al-Razi University, provided an overview of the university’s efforts to meet the required standards in offering its 14 graduate programs, in line with national and international benchmarks.
