New York - Saba:
The deteriorating health condition of Palestinian prisoners and detainees released by Israel as part of the exchange deal reflects the harsh conditions they experienced during their detention, the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights said in a press release on Saturday.
In a press release today, Saturday, Euromed said that most of them appeared to be in severe health deterioration with each of them losing several kilograms of their weight due to what appears to be deliberate starvation, indicating that many of the prisoners and detainees needed immediate transfer to hospitals for urgent medical examinations immediately upon their release from prison.
The Observatory stressed the need for the immediate and unconditional release of detainees who were arbitrarily arrested and immediately allow competent international and local organizations to visit the detainees and enable them to appoint lawyers, calling on all concerned countries and authorities to conduct an immediate and independent investigation into these grave crimes , violations and take all necessary legal measures to prosecute and try the occupation leaders responsible for committing these crimes.
It also called on the international community to pressure Israel to immediately stop committing the crime of enforced disappearance against prisoners and detainees from Gaza Strip and to immediately reveal all secret detention camps and disclose the names of all Palestinians it is holding.
EuroMediterranean called on all concerned countries to support the work of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate these crimes and submit specialized communications to the ICC about the crimes against Palestinian prisoners , detainees, and to issue arrest warrants for all those responsible and prosecute them.
