The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, met today with the leadership of the Expatriates Sector and the directors of the ministry's offices in the governorates, to discuss the challenges facing expatriates and the offices concerned with them, especially in light of the current circumstances.
The Minister stressed the keenness to follow up on the issues of expatriates and continuous communication with them, by the directives of Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, noting the near completion of the establishment of an operations and complaints room for expatriates, to receive complaints and transfer them to the competent authorities and following up on them.
He also called on the sector officials to strengthen the connection of expatriates to their homeland and to familiarize them with the new investment law that provides facilities for expatriate investors. He stressed the need to provide distinguished services to expatriates and support them in building their capacities to be active elements in the countries of expatriation.
The meeting witnessed an open discussion about the difficulties facing the ministry's offices in the governorates, and several recommendations were made to enhance their role in serving Yemeni expatriates.
