A university scientific study revealed the smells of ancient Egyptian mummification after thousands of years, as researchers from the University of London and the University of Ljubljana conducted the first research of its kind to systematically analyze the smells of mummies, using advanced technical tools.
The research team used an "electronic nose" and chemical analysis devices such as gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer to study 9 mummies preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
