Al-Qanou: Resistance will not engage in any negotiations unless occupation abides by agreement
[Mon, 24 Feb 2025 16:34:57 +0300]

Gaza - Saba:

Abdullatif al-Qanou, spokesman for the Hamas movement, stressed on Monday that the Israeli occupation's failure to implement all the provisions of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza "does not serve the process of moving forward towards completing the release of the remaining Israeli prisoners."

Al-Qanou said in press statements "The resistance will not engage in any new negotiations unless the occupation abides by the agreement and implements the requirements of the first phase."

He stressed that the one obstructing the implementation of all the provisions of the agreement is Netanyahu, who works for his personal agendas and does not care about the lives of the remaining prisoners.

Al-Qanou added that the failure to implement the humanitarian protocol and the postponement of the release of the seventh batch of prisoners is evidence of the occupation's intentions to disrupt the agreement and its lack of seriousness in continuing it.

He pointed out that contacts with mediators regarding the occupation's repeated violations and procrastination in implementation are ongoing and we are awaiting their response regarding this, indicating that the agreement was made under international sponsorship, which requires the occupation to respect it and implement its stages without evasion, as the resistance has committed to.

Al-Qanou called on the mediators and the international community to put more pressure on the occupation to save the ceasefire agreement, consolidate it, and prevent Netanyahu from disrupting its provisions
