The government media office in Gaza documented the destruction by the occupation army, since the beginning of the war of extermination on October 7, 2023, of 137 schools and universities, and the execution of 150 scientists in the governorates of the Strip.
According to the director of the office, during the period of the war of genocide and the ongoing aggression on the Strip, the Israeli occupation deprived 785,000 male and female students of education from early childhood and various educational and university stages.
Ismail Al-Thawabtah confirmed that the Israeli occupation army deliberately and systematically bombed the facilities of the education system and university and academic institutions in the Gaza Strip, which caused the complete destruction of hundreds of schools, colleges and universities, in addition to the martyrdom of tens of thousands of students, educational cadres, university lecturers and scientists.
Al-Thawabtah said that throughout the genocidal war that lasted 470 days on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation completely destroyed 137 schools and universities.
According to the monitoring and documentation of the government media, which was published in conjunction with the exceptional opening of the school year in the Gaza Strip, the occupation partially destroyed 357 schools and universities in the Strip.
As for the number of student victims, the data showed that the Israeli army killed 12,800 male and female students during the war, while 760 teachers and educational employees in the education sector were killed by the occupation during the war, as well as 150 scientists, academics, university professors and researchers who were executed by the occupation.
