A meeting was held in Taiz Governorate, headed by the Deputy Governor for the Development Sector, Abdul-Wasea Al-Shamsi, during which the attendees discussed ways to improve and develop local agricultural products and market them through cooperative societies.
The meeting stressed the importance of supporting agricultural production, productive families, and local industries, enhancing the quality of products, and increasing their marketing opportunities.
Deputy Al-Shamsi pointed out the need to activate the role of partners in providing the necessary assistance and expertise and providing advice and guidance to improve the quality of local production. He also stressed the importance of absorbing productive families within cooperative societies and activating the marketing unit in the societies in coordination with the Economy and Industry Office and the relevant authorities.
For his part, the Director of the Economy and Industry Office, Afif Al-Dhabhani, stressed the importance of describing and packaging agricultural products well, and promoting them through various means, while highlighting the health and economic benefits of these products. He also pointed out the role of the production and marketing units in cooperative societies, in addition to the role of the Knights of Development and Media in enhancing this aspect.
The meeting included representatives from the Agriculture Office, the Economy and Industry Office, the Taizyah District, the Cooperative Union, the Binian Foundation, and the Taizyah Association, where mechanisms for supporting farmers and productive families, improving the quality of local agricultural products, and increasing their marketing opportunities were discussed.
