Cairo - Saba:
The Arab Parliament affirmed its categorical rejection of any vision calling for the displacement of the Palestinian people or control over the Gaza Strip, considering it a flagrant violation of international laws and international legitimacy resolutions.
This came in a decision issued by the emergency session held by the Parliament today under the slogan "Reconstructing Gaza is a duty.. and displacing its people is a crime."
The Parliament explained that any attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause or impose unfair solutions, including displacement attempts, is a crime against humanity under international law. It condemned any plans aimed at displacing Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, calling on the international community and the Security Council to impose a firm stance against these attempts.
The Parliament called on the US administration to retract its statements regarding the displacement of Palestinians, stressing its full support for the Palestinian people in their right to return, self-determination and the establishment of their independent state. It also called for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from Gaza and enabling the Palestinian Authority to exercise its duties in the Strip.
At the end of the statement, the parliament condemned the Israeli escalation in the West Bank and the martyrdom of many civilians, stressing its rejection of attempts to divide the Gaza Strip or change the land equation.
